Thomas Attin
Thomas Attin acquired the dental state exam in 1989 at the University of Marburg, where he received his doctorate in 1991. From 1989-1999 he worked at the universities in Heidelberg, Cologne and Freiburg i. Brg. and in a dental practice. In 1997 he was appointed as Privatdozent. In 1999 he became Acting Head of the Department of Operative Dentistry and Periodontology, Freie Universität Berlin as a visiting professor. In 2000 he was appointed Full Professor and Director of the Department of Operative Dentistry, Preventive Dentistry and Periodontology at University of Göttingen. In 2006 he was appointed a Full professor and Director of the Clinic for Preventive Dentistry, Periodontology and Cariology at University of Zurich. Professor Attin was the dean of the Centre for Dentistry and vice-dean of the Medical Faculty, University of Zürich, Switzerland since 2013 to 2022. Since 2022, he is a Visiting Professor at the University Zagreb, Croatia.
Professor Attin is author/co-author of 539 original scientific publications with more than 17500 citations. His h-factor amounts to 67. So far he held 422 invited lectures and 293 hands-on workshops. He received 40 scientific awards for his accomplishments.

Zrinka Tarle
Zrinka Tarle was born on the 28th of August 1969.
She is a full professor, permanent position in the field of restorative dentistry and endodontics at the School of Dental Medicine, University of Zagreb. Her field of expertise is based on the investigation of properties and possible improvements of materials and procedures in restorative dental medicine. She obtained a PhD degree in 1995 with the doctoral dissertation “The evaluation of polymerization effect of pulsed laser light source in the composite resin sample”.
She was the leader of the top graded project funded by the Ministry of Science “Nanostructure of restorative materials and interactions with hard dental tissues”, the principal investigator of the program of Croatian Science Foundation: “Evaluation of new bioactive materials and procedure in restorative dental medicine“ and IADR project: Bulk versus incremental layering of composite: a practice-based, randomized, controlled, prospective clinical study: ‘CED-IADR PBRN project’. At the moment she is the principal investigator of the project of Croatian Science Foundation “Biomimetic intelligent composite materials”.
She is the Head of the Department of Endodontics and Restorative Dentistry and Visiting professor at the the School of Dental Medicine, Medical Faculty Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich and president of the Croatian Society for Restorative Dental Medicine.
She was a Dean of the School of Dental Medicine, University of Zagreb from 2018 to 2024.  She was a Vice dean for Science and Research from 2007 to 2018, head of Postgraduate Doctoral Study Dental Medicine and head of Restorative dental medicine.
She was a mentor on 25 graduate theses, 2 master and 10 doctoral dissertations.
She is the author of more than 250 publications, lecturer at numerous national and international meetings and organizer of different courses, symposia and congresses.
She was a Board member of CED IADR (2008-2016, President 2013-2014), PER IADR (2014-2022; Secretary and Treasurer 2016-2022), as well as a member of IADR Nominating Committee (2014-2018, chair 2017-2018) and IADR Tellers Committee (2019-2022, chair od 2020-2021.) and AODES (2015-2020).
She is a member of many international and national scientific associations, as well as boards and committees of University, Ministry of Science, Ministry of Health, Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts and Croatian Science Foundation.
She got many national and international awards for her scientific work but the most important one was the National Award for Science in 2012. The biggest privilege was her election in the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
She is married and the mother of two sons.

 


Marko Jakovac
Marko Jakovac was born on October 4th, 1974, in Zagreb, where he finished primary and secondary school. He graduated in 1993 and in the same year, he entered the School of Dental Medicine at the University of Zagreb. The Ministry of Science and Technology awarded him a scholarship in 1997 due to his high-grade point average during his studies. In 1998, he graduated from the School of Dental Medicine, University of Zagreb and began his internship. In 1999, he passed the state exam. In the same year, he enrolled in postgraduate studies in the field of dentistry. He was admitted to the School of Dental Medicine, University of Zagreb as a junior research assistant in 2001. In 2002, he became an assistant and began his specialization at the Department of Prosthodontics. He received his master's degree in 2003 under the mentorship of prof. Jasenka Živko-Babić, DMD, PhD. In 2005, he passed the specialist exam. He defended his doctoral dissertation in 2008. Since 2009, he has been an assistant professor at the Department of Fixed Prosthodontics and head of the course for professional development of doctors of dental medicine called "Advanced preparation techniques in fixed prosthodontics". Since 2010, he has been the head of the post-graduate course "Aesthetics of fixed prosthodontic restorations on teeth and implants". From 2012 to 2021, he has been the holder of the undergraduate course "Preclinical and laboratory fixed prosthodontics". He won the dean's award for the best teacher in 2013 and introduced a new undergraduate course "Microscope in dental medicine". Since 2015, he has been an associate professor at the School of Dental Medicine in Zagreb, and since 2018, Vice-Dean for Postgraduate Studies. He was from 2021 - 2024 the head of the Department of Fixed Prosthodontics and head of the course Fixed Prosthodontics 2. Since 2023 he is full time professor at Department of Fixed Prosthodontics.
He is the author of the book "Protocol- Standardisation in Fixed Prosthodontics", "Protokol", textbook "Preclinical and Laboratory Fixed Prosthodontics” and has written numerous chapters in other textbooks at the School of Dental Medicine in Zagreb.
As an author and co-author, he wrote several scientific and professional papers. He is a mentor for more than 30 graduate theses and 5 master's degrees. 
He participated in a numerous projects and grants in the Republic of Croatia. 
He is a lecturer and organizer at a large number of international and domestic congresses and courses for the permanent training of doctors of dental medicine. He cooperates and teaches as a KOL with the companies such as IvoclarVivadent, Carl Zeiss and DentsplySirona. 
He is a founder and vice-president of the Croatian Society of Minimal Intervention in Dental Medicine, founder of the European Academy of Digital Dentistry and a member of the Croatian Prosthodontic Society, the Croatian Society for Dental Implantology, the Croatian Medical Association and the Croatian Chamber of Dental Medicine. 

 


Senka Meštrović
Senka Meštrović was born in 1967 in Zagreb. In 1990 she graduated from the University of Zagreb School of Dental Medicine. In 1992 she finished the postgraduate program and defended her master's thesis titled "Orthodontic Disorders and Oral Health in Subjects with Down Syndrome" and obtained the title of Master of Science. Since 1991, she has been employed as a research novice at the School of Dental Medicine, and on August 8th, 1993, she was elected an assistant at the Department of Orthodontics. In 1995 she finished clinical training in orthodontics. During the academic year 1995/96, she spent a month on professional training at the University of Vienna Orthodontics Clinic as a CEEPUS scholarship holder. In 1999 she defended her dissertation entitled "Finite element method analysis of stress and strain caused by the orthodontic forces". On 23rd December 1999 she was elected to the scientific-teaching title of assistant professor, and on 15th July 2003 to the scientific-teaching title of associate professor. On January 20th, 2008, she was elected a full professor. 21st January 2014 she was elected to the full tenured professor scientific-teaching title. From the academic years 2007/02008 to 2011/2012 she was vice-dean for education and students. She is head of the Department of Orthodontics, School of Dental Medicine University of Zagreb.

 


Radoslav Bužančić
Radoslav Bužančić took degree of the Faculty of Architecture of Zagreb University in 1983. In 1996 took degree in Post-graduated Study ”Architectural Heritage” on subject  “Medieval architecture 9-11 century“. In 2008 finished thesis in Renaissance architecture of Trogir. 
Since 1984. employed as conservator in the Institute for the protection of monuments in region Dalmatia. From 1997. member of Conservation Department of Split, in National Service for protection of Cultural Heritage. From 2006 become head of Trogir conservation department. In 2010 become head of Conservation department in Split.
Expert in medieval architecture, Published several articles on mediaeval architecture in Dalmatia, took part as active participant in various conferences, winner of foreign scholarships. In 1994. received the Croatian annual award for the preservation of cultural heritage. Took part in post-war reconstruction & conservation in Dubrovnik area. Main field of interest is early mediaeval and renaissance architecture in Dalmatia.

 


Vedran Deletis
Dr. sc. Vedran Deletis was the creator of new intraoperative neurophysiology methods that prevent damage to the nervous system during neurosurgical or orthopedic surgeries. At St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital in New York, he developed a neurophysiological method that avoids severe injuries or unintentional medical errors with long-term consequences, such as spinal cord damage and amputations of limbs. At the Department of Anesthesiology at New York University, he developed technology and methodology that made a breakthrough in preventing spinal cord damage and established one of the best laboratories in the United States. In collaboration with biomedical engineers from Zagreb, he developed and perfected CIMS (Comprehensive Intraoperative Monitoring System), a Croatian intraoperative medical device. Together with Japanese doctors, he has developed new treatment methods for Parkinson's disease. He is the president of the International Association for Intraoperative Neurophysiology. Along with a team of about one hundred doctors from the Department of Anesthesiology at New York University, who separated from the university, he founded the Institute for Neurology and Neurosurgery at Beth Israel Hospital, which he joined in 1996. He is the author of 42 scientific papers and 11 book chapters in the field of intraoperative neurophysiology.

Ivan Raychev
Born in Sofia in 1974. 
Graduated from the Faculty of Dental Medicine Sofia in 1998.
Assistant professor at the Department of Conservative Dental Medicine, FDM-Sofia from 1999 until 2010. 
He acquired a postgraduate specialization in  "Operative dentistry and endodontic" in 2003.
At present Dr. Raychev runs his own dental practice, and is a part-time assistant professor at the Department of Conservative Dental Medicine.
His current practice is devoted to the concept of realization the optimal esthetic results in the least invasive, safe and consistent treatment mode. 
Dr. Raychev is author and coauthor of publications in scientific journals, lecturer and invited speaker in national and international congresses, KOL for Ivoclar.

 


Pablo Ramirez
Born in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, Pablo is a fifth-generation dentist in the Ramírez family.
He completed his academic training at the European University of Madrid (UEM), where he earned his undergraduate degree and later completed a master s program in Implantology and Oral Rehabilitation at the same institution.
In 2005, he moved to New York City, where he completed a full-time program in Prosthodontics and Esthetic Dentistry at New York University. He subsequently pursued advanced studies in Periodontics and Implantology, completing surgical and rehabilitation training with a biological and minimally invasive approach.
Currently, he shares a private practice in Las Palmas with his brother Alejandro, an orthodontist, at Clínica Ramírez. Their practice focuses on digital dentistry with an interdisciplinary vision, combining clinical work with teaching in university courses and speaking at national and international conferences.
Dr Ramírez actively collaborates with several industry leading companies and participates in development of clinical products and protocols.

Vlatko Pandurić
Vlatko Pandurić was born on July 29, 1971 in Split. He finished his five-year studies in 1994. He defended his master's thesis in 1999. He passed the specialist exam in 2003. In the same year, he defended his PhD dissertation "Assessment of adhesion and cohesion fractures by stereomicroscope and holographic interferometry". He is a full professor at the Department of Endodontics and Restorative Dentistry of the Faculty of Dentistry University of Zagreb. He actively participates in scientific and professional congresses in the country and abroad, as well as in many domestic congresses and work courses. He was a guest at many invited lectures. He is actively involved in postgraduate, pre-clinical and clinical teaching. He is one of the leaders and co-leaders in the continuing education program of the Faculty of Dentistry. He is one of the organizers of the specialist study in Restorative Dental Medicine and Endodontics. He is a member of the Croatian Dental Chamber, vice-president of the Croatian Society for Restorative Dental Medicine of the Croatian Medical Association, a member of the Croatian Endodontic Society and the European Endodontic Society, the Croatian Endodontic Society of the Croatian Medical Association. He is the president of the Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Zagreb.

 


Danijela Marović
Danijela Marović is an associate professor and specialist in endodontics and restorative dentistry at the Department of Endodontics and Restorative Dentistry, School of Dental Medicine, University of Zagreb.
She is the head of the course Project and Preclinical Restorative Dental medicine at the Dental Medicine study program in English at the School of Dental Medicine in Zagreb, as well as the Anesthesia in Endodontics and Restorative Dentistry course in the Postgraduate Specialist Study Program in Endodontics and Restorative Dental Medicine, and is a collaborator in 12 other undergraduate and postgraduate courses. She has been recognized as one of the highest rated faculty members in student surveys for her teaching.
She was the leader of several scientific projects. She is the author of nine book chapters, more than 60 scientific and professional articles and an active participant in numerous national and international conferences. She is the recipient of the Robert Frank Award of the International Association for Dental Research and several prestigious domestic scientific awards, including the award of the School of Dental Medicine for the most successful scientific work. She is a member of several international and national associations and the first vice president of the Croatian Society for Restorative Dental Medicine of the Croatian Medical Chamber. She is currently Vice Dean for Finance, Infrastructure and Projects at the School of Dental Medicine, University of Zagreb.

 


Eva Klarić
Eva Klarić was born on September 8, 1983 in Zagreb. In 2002, she enrolled at the School of Dental Medicine, University of Zagreb, graduating in 2007. During her studies, she was awarded the Dean's Award for the academic year 2003/04 and the Rector's Award for the academic year 2006/07, and was included in the ten most successful graduates in 2007/08. Since 2009, she has been employed as a research assistant at the Department of Endodontics and Restorative Dental Medicine. She received her PhD in 2013. She passed the specialist examination in Endodontics and Restorative Dental Medicine in 2014. In 2016, she completed her postgraduate specialist study. She has been working at the Department of Endodontics and Restorative Dental Medicine from 2016-2021 as an assistant professor, and since 2021 she has been elected to the title of associate professor. She is the author of a number of scientific and professional articles, as well as chapters in books and university textbooks. In 2013 and 2015, she was awarded the Best Junior Researcher of the School of Dental Medicine in Zagreb. In 2013, she was awarded the Award of the Society of University Teachers and Other Scientists in Zagreb for the best scientific work, and in 2016, she was awarded the IADR Robert Frank Award for Senior Clinical Research. She is a member of the Croatian Chamber of Dental Medicine, the Croatian Endodontic Society, Croatian Society for Restorative Dental Medicine and the International Association for Dental Research.

 


Bernard Janković
Bernard Janković enrolled at the School of Dental Medicine, University of Zagreb, in the 1990/91 academic year and graduated on May 14, 1996. Since March 3, 1997, he has been working at the Department of Endodontics and Restorative Dental Medicine.
He actively participates in numerous scientific and professional congresses both domestically and internationally. He is the head of the postgraduate professional course "Minimally Invasive Dental Medicine" and the doctoral study "Assessment of the Success of Preventive and Minimally Invasive Procedures in the Treatment of Hard Dental Tissues." In the 2009/2010 academic year, he served as the head of the Department of Endodontics and Restorative Dental Medicine at the School of Dental Medicine in Split. He leads the Endodontics I, II, and III courses at the Dentistry Program of the Faculty of Medicine in Mostar and the Preclinical Restorative Dental Medicine course at the School of Dental Medicine in Zagreb.
Since 2017, he has been a member of the Hospital Dental Medicine team, performing oral rehabilitations under general anesthesia. In 2021, he became the head of the Reference Center of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Croatia for Restorative Dental Medicine. In 2022, he received the "Acknowledgment" award from the Croatian Medical Association. Since 2023, he has been the head of the University Postgraduate Program "Aesthetics of the Orofacial Region" at the School of Dental Medicine in Zagreb. He is the author and co-author of 20 review and professional papers. He has participated in numerous domestic and international congresses. He is a member of the Croatian Dental Chamber, the Croatian Endodontic Society, the Croatian Society for Minimally Invasive Dental Medicine, the Croatian Society for Endodontics, the Croatian Society for Aesthetic Surgery and Cosmetic Dermatology, and the Croatian Society for Restorative Dental Medicine, where he also serves on the board of directors. He is married and has two children.

 


Matej Par
Matej Par is an assistant professor at the School of Dental Medicine, University of Zagreb. His research focuses on restorative materials and the development of experimental remineralizing composite materials. Over the years, he has built a network of international collaboration, working closely with dental faculties and research institutes in Munich, Zurich, and Oslo. He has authored more than 100 original research articles, 84 of which are indexed in the Web of Science citation database. He received the award for the best dissertation in 2018 and five consecutive awards for the most successful scientific work in the category of associate positions from 2019 to 2023. In 2023, he was included in the list of the top 2% most influential Croatian scientists according to an analysis by Stanford University.
